If you have Windows XP or 2000, then follow these simple instructions to prevent most pop-ups from getting in your way while you are on the internet.
1. On your desktop, Click on your Start Menu then Right Click on My Computer and Click on Manage.
2. This will open a window called Computer Management. Look on the left hand column at the bottom and Click on the + Next to Services and Applications.
3. Now look under Services and Applications and Click on Services.
4. Off to the right,(you will need to scroll down) find where it says Messenger and Double Click on it.
5. In the Middle of this window, beside where it says Startup Type, Click on the Down Arrow and change it from Automatic to Disabled.
6. Lastly, Click on Apply then OK and close out of everything.
That's all there is to it. By default, Microsoft has a Messenger Service Running by default on every XP operating system (Not to be confused with MSN Messenger). Spammers use this service to their advantage and like to send out Spam in the form of popups through this service.
If you followed all the above steps that will cut your pop-ups in half. Also our E-Z Blaster Internet Accelerator Service comes with a very good pop-up blocker. This will help stop a majority of the pop-ups that like to invade your internet experience, all while accelerating your internet experience up to 5x faster than regular dial-up.
